Amaretto is a type of alcoholic liqueur originating in Italy and flavored with almonds and the kernels and pulp from apricots and other fruits such as peaches and cherries. Liqueurs are sweet alcoholic drinks which are flavoured with a variety of different ingredients and come in a variety of different colors. The word 'liqueur' derives from the Latin word 'liquifacere' which means to melt or dissolve - the flavorings used to make liqueurs are dissolved.   • Straight up - Perfect as after dinner drinks and usually served at room temperature
